Josie Young is a specialist in community engagement and development from Australia. She has over 15 years of experience working in community development and education in Australia, Europe, North America and Africa.

Josie favors a strength-based approach to education as well as individual and community development. Her passion is working with individuals and communities to provide avenues through which people can identify and build on existing strengths to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Josie’s previous roles have seen her serve as the community education and engagement coordinator for not for profits which included managing a therapeutic residential youth program in Australia. She has also worked as an education assistant in secondary and primary schools, a research assistant and tutor for universities in Australia, as well as in project management for private, government and not-for-profits.

Josie Young has written two books, and holds the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Arts (Political Science: Public Policy and International Relations) from the University of Tasmania
  2. Masters of International and Community Development from Deakin University
  3. Masters of Humanitarian Assistance from Deakin University
